Reuben Earl Strickland

December 11, 1948 ~ April 14, 2002

Reuben Earl Strickland was born in Claremore, Oklahoma, on December 11, 1948 to parents Earl Reuben Strickland and Celia Murphy Strickland.  After graduating from Tucson High School in June 1967, he enlisted in the Marines that August.  In February 1969, he was a Lance Corporal serving in Vietnam with Headquarters and Service Company, Second Battalion, Fourth Marine Regiment, Third Marine Division.  He was discharged four months later on June 1, 1969.

Reuben married the former Donna Maria Wood, and they had three sons, Quint (deceased 1992), Travis, and Jerod.

He died on April 14, 2002 at the age of 53.  At the time of his death, Reuben was a working as a maintenance supervisor.  Arrangements are being handled by Desert Rose Heather Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at Santa Cruz Lutheran Church, 6809 S. Cardinal Avenue, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2002.
