September 1, 1948 ~ September 4, 1984

 

Rebecca Shannon Mahan died on September 4, 1984, in San Leandro, California.  She was survived by her mother Lenora Descamp Shannon.

Becky was a real sweet girl I enjoyed being around. She always laughed at my jokes and I wish I had gotten to know her better. My condolenses to her family members and friends.

Becky and I knew each other before we went to 1st grade at Robison.  We were close all through school.  I got married and left Tucson in 1967.  Becky was the only person who had given me a wedding shower.  She got married on Treasure Island, California, in 1968. The last thing she sent me was a diaper set for my newborn son, Brian.
 
Becky was a wonderful best friend, but since I married an Air Force man and she married a Navy man, we both had many moves and lost contact with each other.
 
Becky developed juvenile diabetes in 4th grade, and I'm sure that contributed to her early death.  
 
I still miss her very much.  RIP, Becky.
