Lawrence Joseph Gay

March 15, 1949 ~ October 2, 2018

Lawrence J. Gay, 69, passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2018.  He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Polly; his son, Lawrence Gay, Jr. (Debbie), and daughter, Kristen Heacox (Ken); his brother, Gerald C. Gay (Laureen); and many grandchildren, aunts, uncles and other family members.  Lawrence served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years and spent eight years as a sheriff's correctional deputy for Humboldt County, California, before retiring in 2004 and moving back to his hometown of Tucson.  He enjoyed woodworking and creating stained glass, but his favorite pastime was keeping friends and family laughing with his jokes, puns, and one-liners.  A memorial gathering will be held Monday, October 8, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Bring's Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway Boulevard.
