Robert Lee Bennett

Bob Bennett passed away on June 15, 2020. Bob had had several medical issues and was admitted to the hospital in November 2019. He was discharged home in May 2020 and was cared for by his loving wife, Janet Barber-Bennett. Bob chose to have his body donated to science; subsequently, he will be cremated, and his ashes will later be buried at the Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Marana.
While a student at Tucson High, Bob played baseball for the Puerto Ricans and proved to be quite a pitcher.
Bob retired from the US Navy after having served 26 years. He loved his St. Louis Cardinals and drove a Cardinals golf cart around the Robson Ranch Retirement Community in Eloy, Arizona, where he and Janet lived.

Dearest Janet,
I was so sorry and surprised to hear about Bob's passing. It was just a week ago I heard from Adrienne Ash and read Frank Kingman's posting. Bob was a great guy and he had so many friends at Tucson High.
It was so much fun to reconnect through the years at our many decade reunions. He was funny and grateful when the "gang" gathered for the THS graduating class in 2017 which commemorated our 50 year anniversary. Of course, our 50th Reunion was wonderful and Bob was sharing the "good ole days".
I will always remember Bobbie as one the nicest and friendliest guys in our class. We will all truly miss him!

Dear Janet,
Frank Kingman told me about Bob's passing about a few weeks ago. I was very sad to learn that he had lost his fight. My heart goes out to you & your family as I know how painful this must be for all of you. I was always genuinely happy to see him & I know he was genuinely happy to see me as we giggled & chatted between classes, in the cafeteria or at other school functions. He was a lovely man, a good friend through high school & I'm sad that we had lost touch through the years. I'm so thankful that we had an opportunity to see each other once again at our class reunion in 2017.
