During my first years at THS, I was pretty enmeshed within the "geek squad," with my interests in technology and radio. John Mann was part of that group too and we became friends. He studied for and obtained an amateur radio license and we shared that activity. I lost touch with him after high school, but a few years later his mother called me with the sad news that he had passed away in an accident in Mexico. May he rest in peace.

Mark and John and I used to have interesting conversations. I remember that at one point we invented a way (at least theoretically) to exceed the speed of light. Regrettably I can't recall the exact nature of this breakthrough in theoretical physics.

We also had theological discussions, which tended to end up with Mark and I vs. John. This was a little interesting given that Mark and I were, respectively, Jewish and Protestant. John was a Roman Catholic and thus obviously the odd man out. Heh-heh.

Good times!
