"Navy Man Gradillas Rites Set" 

Alfred V. Gradillas, 23, Navy, boiler mate, third class, and a 1967 graduate of Tucson High School, died Saturday at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego after suffering a heart attack.  Gradillas, of 873 W. Virginia Street, had been hospitalized since April 18 with pneumonia at Subic Bay, Philippines, where be had been stationed.  His family said he arrived in Tucson on June 21 for medical observation at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Hospital and was sent to San Diego last Thursday for treatment.  Gradillas joined the Navy in 1967 and had planned a military career.  Rosary will be recited July 8 at 7 p.m. at Tucson Mortuary Chapel, 202 S. Stone Avenue.  Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning, July 9, at St. Augustine Cathedral.  Military graveside services will be conducted by the U.S. Naval Reserve at Holy Hope Cemetery.  Gradillas is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adrian M. Gradillas; brothers Miguel, Guillermo, Daniel, Roberto, and Ernie Gradillas and Luis Castillo; and a sister, Connie, all of Tucson.
