Dave had some seeming contradictions:  Mild and madman, rugged and pretty, popular and a loner to name a few.  However there was no contradiction about Dave's loyalty as a friend or his total commitment as a teammate.  Dave became a dedicated family man and a hard worker to support them.  No surprise there.  Even though we were never super close, in some ways he seemed to me like an alter ego.

Perhaps because we were both linebackers!

Miss you, Dave.
