What can anyone say about my old friend Charlie, but that he was a great guy.  I met Charlie in the 7th grade at Safford and we would stay friends for years.  The last time that I saw Charlie was at our 20 year graduation reunion, but we would stay in contact over the years by mail.  Abe Aragon called  to tell me of Charlie's passing, it was a very sad day. I remember that he passed in October 2002.  What I remember most about Charlie is that he always had a smile on his face regardless of the situation.

Ditto on Charlie's great smile and being a joy to be around.  Charlie's hustle in athletics was also inspiring.  By that, I mean doing the best that you can with whatever health and tools you have.  Now that I'm older and have had to fight through various operations, I appreciate that kind of hustle even more.
